Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in the Guardian

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie reflects on the ridiculous bill on 'indecent dressing' in Nigeria. Her reference to immorality in the Nigerian context is particularly interesting to note. Visit it here via the guardian website. Even more interesting are the comments that follow. When i go on such websites, such as the guardian and the BBC for example; it is interesting to see people's perspectives on general issues under the cover of annonymity. An opportunity to 'let it all out' in a society so burdened by political correctness and false pretense...not that this is non-existent elsewhere. Chimamanda, i would imagine, would laugh till her sides ached if she read the comments that followed. As a foreigner resident in a country inhibited by undercover xenephobic neanderthals, it is admittedly not encouraging to read; however insightful this may be. An issue of morality indeed!

Unfortunately there's a lot of hypocrisy in this country when it comes to anything that relates to sex and sexualty, and it's not helping one bit.
